Red Carpet Cinema Premiere - Phoenix and Vegas

Kayla gets her nails done for her first "Red Carpet" experience for "In Search of the American Dream" to be held at the iPic Theater Thursday night in Phoenix, AZ and Saturday 1/28 at The Tropicana in Las Vegas.  Kayla plays "Monica" in the film and enjoyed working with the cast and crew on this feature film set to also premiere in Houston in a few months.

An Interview with Kayla on the Road to Austin for a Commercial Audition

Marketing Dynamics had the opportunity to interview Kayla on the way to a commercial audition in Austin.  Road trips are an excellent time to prepare for the audition - "road rules" apply (i.e., junk food, adventure, loud music, yelling, screaming, and laughing). 

Kayla's day included getting up early for a hair appointment to straighten her hair, reviewing a web article on the casting director, getting her headshots and resume updated on www.CastingNetworks.com, breakfast at Burger King, gassing up at Race Way in Houston, and reviewing the audition details for the client on the road.  Of course, Kayla had plenty of music to listen to on her iPhone iPod. 

The family wound up staying the weekend at www.CasitaDeCruzita.com (vacation rental in College Station) owned by her Nana, where they prepared to celebrate her sister Kenna's birthday with their cousins on Sunday.

"Road Trip" VBS with Brent Weber (Kayla back-up dancer)

8.3.11 - Kayla enjoyed the "Road Trip" Vacation Bible Study at her church, where she supported the music and dance entertainment with her instructor Mrs. Angie.  The church was treated to a live performance by Brent Weber (www.BrentWeber.com) who came in from Atlanta, GA and rocked the house with his music.  Over 300 people were in attendance to include children, parents, and volunteer staff.  Dedicated to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

2011 Photo Strip Flyer

Kayla recently had an audition for a commercial print job.  Her manager had recently created a photo strip flyer to have on hand as an available marketing tool that could easily show the range of her looks.  Luckily, when the casting agent commented that Kayla's submitted headshot made her look "younger," Kayla was able to retreive this flyer to help reposition her likeness in a better light. Although, the photo strip is not an accepted industry standard, additional marketing collateral can help in some cases.  We recommend having these available, but only presenting them when the need arises.

"Breakeven" Covered/Recorded by Kayla at Sugarhill Studios

Kayla had the opportunity to professionally record "Breakeven" at the world famous Sugarhill Studios in Houston, Texas. We made a video of this experience.

Voice coach and music producer, Jane Vandiver took her students into the studio to record with Chief Music Engineer, Andy Bradley, of SugarHill. It was a wonderful memory and a great recording session, just like real music artists.

SugarHill Studios is one of the oldest recording studios in the nation and has hosted artists like Beyonce, Destiny's Child, Mickey Gilley, Ted Nugent, Freddy Fender, Willie Nelson, and The Big Bopper.

Worldwide on Univision: Kayla Appears in This Music Video

This music video produced by "Mexia" and had it's world debut on Univision "Sempre Impacto", an entertainment and news show. Kayla plays "Monica" in a soon to be released national feature film "In Search of the American Dream". She was excited to know that many of her family and friends were able to see it in various states when it was broadcasted.

She has taken many voice lessons from veteran performer and coach Jane Vandiver of Star Singers Studio (http://www.starsingersstudio.com/).  Kayla has performed at her church, at various school events, and professional venues.  She recently had an audition for a nation TV sitcom series and has been featured on "Great Day Houston" segment called "Amazing Kids" with Deborah Duncan.  Her first feature film releases in Houston "In Search of the American Dream" in Houston, Texas March 23, 2011.

Kayla to Appear in New Methodist Hospital Commercial Featuring Famed Ballerina Lauren Anderson of the Houston Ballet

Kayla recently attended a production shoot for a series of TV commercials that will run for Methodist Hospital.  Kayla was glad to be a part of the troupe of other Pastorini-Bosby agency ballerinas/talent/models who will also be featured.

As part of the scene and shoot, the girls were treated to ballet lessons that gave them a tremendous workout and appreciation for the focus of a world class ballet instructor.
